Awww...I love mongooses!!!

 People visiting to the island might think we have squirrels or ferrets, but what you see running past you is actually a mongoose. Mongooses are not liked, they are not loved, and they are even loathed to the point of inspiring their own state laws against encouraging them to bred and reproduce. Some can get permits, but most who house and bred these creatures can face a fine ranging anywhere from $250 to $1000. Why so much hate for such a small creature? One needs to look no further than its history.

TOKYO (AFP) – Japan's latest bullet train, the thin-nosed "Hayabusa" or Falcon, will make its 300 kilometre per hour (186 mph) debut Saturday, boasting a luxury carriage modelled on airline business class.

Japan has built up a network of cutting-edge Shinkansen train lines since the 1960s that criss-cross the island nation and now hopes to sell the infrastructure technology abroad, including to the United States.

The latest ultra-fast tech-marvel will make three trips a day from Tokyo to the city of Aomori, in a scenic rural backwater on the northern tip of the main Honshu island that has until now been off Japan's bullet train map.

The green-and-silver E5 series Hayabusa will travel at up to 300 kmh to make the 675 kilometre trip in three hours and 10 minutes. From next year, it will push its top speed to 320 kmh to become Japan's fastest train.

Mar 3, Girl's Day in Honolulu

It was a bit hazy with some overcast in Honolulu, while women celebrate Girl’s Day.  March 3, is Girl’s Day, which calls for a little celebration.  It’s a cultural day, which many Japanese also call “Doll Festival Day”.  It’s more like a “ladies first” approach, with intentions to precede Boy’s Day that comes later in May 5.  Some value is given to the dual occurrence of the numbers in the date as viewed better when written, 3/3 and 5/5.  Outdoor plans ended with indoor relaxation while the kids shared special day with moms.  Happy Girl’s Day
