Police Hunt For Gunman In Robbery

HONOLULU -- Police are looking for a teenager suspected of robbing a Honolulu convenience store at gunpoint Monday night.The teenager was armed with a firearm when he confronted a store employee a little after 9 p.m., Honolulu police said.The teen and an 18-year-old man demanded money, but the employee escaped, police said.

Japan upset USA to claim bronze

Tokyo, Japan, November 14, 2010 - Japan upset second-ranked USA in a thrilling five-set match (18-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-19, 15-8) to win the bronze medal in front of a full house of 12,000 fans at the FIVB Women's World Championship Japan 2010 at Yoyogi National Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts, ranked fifth in the world, played some extraordinary Volleyball to win their first FIVB Women's World Championship medal since claiming silver at the 1978 edition in Russia, and impressed many considering they were coming off a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brazil on Saturday. It was Japan's first bronze medal to add to the three golds and three silvers already to their name.

Tree Crashes On Minivan In Manoa

HONOLULU -- A large tree collapsed onto a minivan in Manoa on Wednesday.University of Hawaii student Jessica FitzGerald told KITV4 was walking to her minivan when she saw the tree on Oahu Avenue on her vehicle at about 11:15 a.m. The tree also damaged three other nearby vehicles."I was just shocked I was just walking to the car and I heard this sort of creaking noise and it fell over in slow motion it was really surreal. I am glad I wasn't in the car I was about to be in the car," FitzGerald said. "I was just really lucky."

Central Middle School students encourage drivers to slow down

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The students at Central Middle School showed up early for school Wednesday morning with an important message for drivers... slow down!

The kids teamed up with parents, teachers and Honolulu police officers to encourage drivers to obey traffic laws, especially near schools.

Just last year, a pedestrian was hit by a car on busy Queen Emma Street, right in front of the campus.
