Hawaii faced tough pitching and good defense in a disciplined team from Japan that has had rest compared to Waipio's Little League World Series journey. Sunday made the fifth straight day of games for Hawaii.

HONOLULU -- The Little League team from Ohio lost Tuesday in a game against Georgia, sending it to an elimination game Wednesday against Hawaii.The team from Hamilton, Ohio, lost 0-6 to Columbus, Ga., in Williamsport, Pa.Hamilton will play against Waipio to determine who will face the Georgia team in the finals of Pool A.

HONOLULU -- The city on Monday announced an agreement with the company contracted to ship garbage from Oahu to the mainland.
Hawaiian Waste Systems had promised to send tons of Oahu's trash to a Washington state landfill, but faced delays for months.

Waipio Loses 6-2 In Little League World Series

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Knox Carter hit a two-run home run and two Columbus, Ga., pitchers combined on a two-hitter in a 6-2 win over Waipio, Hawaii at the Little League World Series on Saturday.
Jacob Pate struck out seven and walked four for Georgia, settling down after a rough first inning in which he allowed Ty DeSa's two-run homer.Georgia rallied in the bottom off the first after Hawaii starter Noah Shackles walked the first two hitters and Brandon Pugh hit a two-run single. Carter followed with his opposite-field shot to right to put Georgia up 4-2.Both teams come from local leagues that have recently won the Little League title -- Georgia in 2006 and Hawaii in 2008. Carter's cousin, pitcher Kyle Carter, started and won the '06 title game.
