HONOLULU, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Warning signs are up along Oahu's south shore beaches in advance of tomorrow's monthly box jellfish peak. Today, Ocean Safety found hundreds of jellyfish at Waikiki and Ala moana and dozens of people were stung.
Saturday is supposed to be the smallest influx day out of the three days the advisory is posted. Ocean safety found nearly 300 box jellyfish and there were 53 reported stings. At Ala moana they were much luckier with just 15 found. The highest influx day is tomorrow followed by Monday - check with lifeguards before heading into the water.
