Teen dies in accident near Depots surf spot in Nanakuli

 A teenager died today in an accident near the "Depots" surf spot in Nanakuli.

The boy apparently slipped on some rocks, suffering "traumatic injuries" before falling into the water, where he was half-submerged until lifeguards were able to get to him, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.
The accident happened about 12:14 p.m. in the area of 89-019 Farrington Highway.
The victim was in his mid-teens, and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. He was subsequently pronounced dead.
